Dr. Poudel increasing Nepal-US relations from the people's level

Dr. Damodar Paudel had a dilemma in his mind, so he started the initiative.

'In the clinic of the city where I work, the mayor of the city, the representative of the Republican Party, Senator Sherred Brown of the US Federal Parliament used to come. First of all, I made a proposal with them. Show the situation of Nepal. Through Senator Brown, my proposal reached the Vaccine Committee of the US Congress. After talking to the people close to Joe Biden, Nepal was included in the list of countries to get the vaccine after it was reported in the American Congress that Nepal could not get the vaccine. "I started the process of sending to Nepal in coordination with the Nepali Embassy," said Paudel.

Then Dr. Paudel's efforts were raised by Congressman Brad Winstop in the hearing held in the Vaccine Committee of the US Parliament. This gave more strength to his efforts. Nepal was on the list to receive the vaccine, but the names of many countries were there. Later, with this congressman's initiative, the name of Nepal was moved up in the list of the White House, and the vaccine went to Nepal.

Dr. Poudel, who has been in the medical profession in America for the past two decades, is a primary care physician and a specialist in diseases related to high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity. Dr. Poudel, who is making the state of Ohio, USA, a career center, is the medical director of Hopewell Health Center in Columbus, Ohio. The services of this semi-governmental and non-profit health organization are in 26 locations here.

Dr. Paudel, who completed his MBBS from Maharajganj Teaching Hospital of Nepal, did his MD from Ohio. He has been providing healthcare services in America for 20 years. At his health center in Columbus, he has been providing free services to patients, mainly of Nepali origin, who are in financial trouble.

Dr. Paudel, who especially prefers to work from the people's level, has recently been appointed as the Consul General of Nepal for the state of Ohio by the Cabinet meeting of the Government of Nepal. Paudal said, 'If we can further strengthen the relationship between America and Nepal and deliver the services and goods achieved by America to the Nepalis, it will help in the socio-economic transformation of Nepal. I will always be active according to the responsibility given to me. The development of relations between the two countries and the welfare of Nepal and Nepali people will be my first duty while staying in America.'
