About 57 percent votes were cast in the voting held on Saturday for the by-election of the member of the House of Representatives in Ilam Region No. 2.
Chief District Officer Indradev Yadav said that preliminary information was received that about 66,000 i.e. 57 percent votes were cast in the polling which was held from 7 in the morning to 5 in the evening. In Ilam-2 there were 1 lakh 15 thousand 889 total voters.
Chief District Officer Yadav said that polling was completed peacefully in all centers. In Ilam-2, 19 candidates, including 12 political parties and 7 independents, are in the electoral contest. In that area, it is estimated that the main competition will be between Suhang Nembang of UML, Dumbar Khadka of Congress, Milan Limbu of RSVP and Dakendrasingh Thegim, a common independent candidate of identity .
