Congress objections to the government's decision to introduce an ordinance related to investment conferences and cooperatives

The author has claimed that the government has decided to issue an ordinance to amend some important laws directly related to the country and the people and presented it to the President.

It is mentioned in the author's statement that Congress has drawn serious attention to the government's decision. All parties, including the main opposition party Nepali Congress, demanded a parliamentary inquiry committee to investigate the involvement of the deputy prime minister and the home minister in the criminal act of misappropriation, embezzlement, misuse and fraud of billions of funds deposited by millions of citizens in cooperative organizations and to address the problems of cooperative victims. "We have decided that the government has acted irresponsibly by ignoring it," says the author.

The Congress has objected to the fact that the government is trying to make laws through ordinances and that parliament should make laws.

Similarly, the Congress has objected to the ordinance brought to make legal arrangements in the investment conference. "The government's act of issuing an ordinance to address the investment conference that was scheduled to be held months ago is contrary to the spirit of the existing constitution, parliamentary system and democracy, by misinterpreting the provision of the constitution that the government can issue an ordinance if something needs to be done immediately, except when the federal parliament is in session," the Congress statement said. It is mentioned that, 'by doing such actions, the parliamentary dignity and dignity of the people's representative institution will be lost and the federal democratic republic system will be weakened . The Nepali Congress strongly condemns and defames the irresponsible actions of the government, against the constitution, democracy and parliamentary practice. The Congress has also requested not to weaken the Parliament by bringing laws through ordinances.

The Ordinance on the Investment Conference has reached the President's Office . The meeting of the Council of Ministers on Baisakh 10 decided to recommend to President Ramchandra Paudel an ordinance to amend some Nepal Acts related to investment facilitation. An investment conference will be held in Kathmandu on May 16 and 17. However, the President has not issued an ordinance. Meanwhile, the main opposition Congress has objected to the introduction of the ordinance.
