The parliamentary hearing of the proposed Election Commissioner Krishnaman Pradhan will be held on June 20 and 21. The meeting of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee held at Singh Darbar on Tuesday fixed the date for the hearing of the complaint against Pradhan along with his action plan.
Pashupati Shamsher Jabara, the senior member of the committee (Chairman) informed that after discussing the hearing of the President recommended by the Constitutional Council, the committee approved the date of Asar 20th and 21st as requested by the secretariat. "I announce that the proposal of the secretariat to hear the person proposed for the election commissioner Pradhan has been passed with modifications," he said.
The Constitutional Council meeting held on June 2 recommended Pradhan, Executive Director of Nepal Law Society for the vacant post of Election Commissioner, and the meeting held on June 7 issued a 10-day notice calling for a complaint against him.
There is a constitutional provision that the President appoints the proposed Election Commissioner Pradhan, who has also worked as an election observer, after approval by the parliamentary hearing committee.
