Aryan Sablenka and Jessica Pegulavidne will compete for the US Open 2024 women's singles title. Two-time Australian Open winner Sabalenka reached the final for the second year in a row.
Sablenka defeated Emma Navarro in straight sets 6-3, 7-6 in Friday's first semifinal.
After winning the first set easily, Sabalenka struggled in the second and took a 7-2 lead in the tiebreaker. In the next semi-final, Pegula overturned a one-set deficit and defeated Caroline Muchova 1-6, 6-4 and 6-2. This is the first time that Pegula has reached the final of a Grand Slam tournament.
