The National Sports Council (Rakhep) has recommended Kaviraj Negi Lama, the coach of Taekwondo player Palesha Govardhan, who won a historic bronze medal at the Paris Para Olympics, to be appointed as a coach (official third) to serve in the Rakhep. Rakhep has recommended to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

In the past too, there was a practice of appointing the players and their coaches who won medals in various international competitions to serve in the Rakep as a token of their success.

International level-2 para taekwondo coach Lama has won 11 medals for Nepal so far as a coach in various international para taekwondo competitions. It has 3 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze. So far Lama is a volunteer trainer.

The bronze medal won by Nepal in the Paris Para Olympics is a great achievement of the Para Olympics in Nepali sports. Nepal has yet to win a medal in the Summer Olympics. Nepal has started participating in Para Olympics since 2004 in Athens.

Rakhep has already recommended cash prizes to the players, coaches, managers and Nepal Taekwondo Association who won medals in the Paris Para Olympics as stipulated in the National Sports Development Regulations-2079.
