10th National Games: Union-Province Governments are not ready yet

Last time, a team including Federal Youth and Sports Minister Tejulal Chaudhary, member secretary of the Council, Tanklal Ghising, came to Karnali Province to observe the construction of infrastructure and discussed the management of the competition with the Chief Minister and other ministers of the state government. During the inspection, it was said that even though the infrastructure construction work has been completed, only the remaining preparations will be started. In the meeting with Minister Choudhary, Chief Minister Yamlal Kandel requested to set the budget management, procedure and date of the competition after completing the construction of physical infrastructure.

Member Secretary of Karnali Pradesh Sports Development Council Bishwamitra Sanjyal says that even though the construction work has accelerated, there is no doubt that the competition will be held on the scheduled date due to lack of other preparations. "The manpower has been increased to complete the construction work on time, the construction work of other structures including the stadium will be completed before November," he said, "but the work of purchasing materials, procedure, and guidelines for the competition has not been started, due to which there is a problem to hold the 10th National at the specified time. '

He claims that the remaining work should be done by the association and the state government as the State Sports Development Council is in front of them to fulfill the assigned responsibilities. According to member secretary Sanjyal, other provinces have already started preparations including selection of players. Karnali province has also started preparations for various games by identifying infrastructure, competitions, incentives and talents.

Member Secretary of the National Sports Council, Tanklal Ghising, said that although the draft agenda and procedure of the board meeting had been sent to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, there was no response. "The board meeting of Rakhep has not been held for a year," he told Kantipur, "the ministry has not given as much attention as it should, it has been a long time since we have done all the work to be done and sent the file to the ministry." He says that he is not responsible for not being able to hold board meetings of the council since last year. "It's only been a month and a half since I took charge, I can't take responsibility for a year," he said, "Why couldn't the council hold a meeting, why didn't they think about the preparation for a year, that's their (Council Secretariat) weakness." They say they cannot blame others by sending it to the ministry.

It is not only the government that does not hold the 10th national sports within the stipulated time but also the government is equally responsible. According to Minister Choudhary, all aspects of infrastructure preparation for the competition, housing management and player management will be studied. "If there is no good management, the minister will fail, after I am sure about that, I will give a decision from my side," Minister Chaudhary said, "Even the state government can't ignore the fact that it is only responsible for building physical infrastructure." The province should take responsibility for various management, even if there is a program of the association, the province also has responsibility.'

Minister Chaudhary said that he was not in a hurry after the state government said that it would take some time to prepare the infrastructure. He said that the chief minister of the state government and the minister of social development should be concerned as much as the federal government.
