Karolina Muchova secured a trip to the quarterfinals of the US Open-2024 on Monday with a surprising victory over the fifth ranked Jasmine Paoloni. Unseeded player Muchova won 6-3 and 6-3.
Paolani was defeated even after taking a 3-1 lead in the first set. Now Muchova will face Beatriz Maia. Maia defeated former World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki 6-2, 3-6, 5-3 in the next match.
On the men's side, Daniil Medvedev easily defeated Nuno Borges 6-0, 6-1 and 6-3 to enter the quarterfinals. He is the last former winner who will challenge in this tournament.
