The Nepalese team, including Palesha Govardhan, who won the bronze medal in the Paris Para Olympics, will arrive in Nepal on Wednesday morning.
National Sports Council, Nepal Taekwondo Association, Para Olympic Committee will give a special welcome to the team along with Palesha who won the historical medal and coach Kaviraj Negi Lama at Tribhuvan Airport.
Nepal has won an official medal for the first time in the Olympic structure of international sports. Para taekwondo player Palesha Govardhan won bronze by defeating Maria Missev of Serbia under K-44 category under women 57 kg by 15-8 score.
Nepal has participated in the Summer Olympics since Tokyo in 1964. It has not yet won a medal. In the 1988 Seoul Olympics exhibition match, Taekwondo won bronze. Even though Nepal participated in the 2004 Athens Para Olympics, it had not won a medal.
The National Sports Council announced on Tuesday that it has scheduled a grand welcome program for the Nepali taekwondo team that won bronze in the Paris Para Olympics with a city tour.
From Tribhuvan International Airport, a tour of the city will be done with baggage. It is said that on the route of the rally, a special program will be held at the National Sports Council premises, passing through Airport, Gaushala, Old Baneshwar, Maitidevi, Dillibazar, Bagbazar, Bhadrakali, Sahidgate, Tripureshwar Chowk.
The Nepali sports sector is delighted with the success achieved by Palesha's continuous hard work, dedication and high morale, and Nepal's reputation in the international sports field has reached the peak of Nepal's reputation in the international sports field.
