The CMC Corporate Indoor Cricket Tournament will be held in Narayangadh from August 14. Chitwan District Cricket Association organized the tournament in collaboration with Chitwan Medical College (CMC). 16 teams will compete in the competition which will last till August 17.
Sudeep Piya, president of the organizing association, informed at a press conference held in Bharatpur on Wednesday that the winner will receive a prize of Rs 50,000 and the runner-up will receive Rs 25,000.
Chairman Piya said that the competition was held with the aim of making Chitwan the leading district of cricket by increasing the relationship with professional associations through cricket. He argued that such competitions will increase the atmosphere of cricket in the district.
The union has planned to cooperate with every sector. We are going to organize corporate cricket for that purpose. Construction of a cricket stadium has started in Chitwan. Our goal is to make Chitwan a leading district in cricket. Competitions are held for this," Piya said.
Indoor cricket will be of 8 overs. He said that the goal is to finish one game within an hour. The competition will be held at Kasi Sports in Narayangarh Bahrghare. Chitwan has made very good progress in the field of healthcare. Because the treatment services here are good and reliable, patients from all over the country come to Bharatpur. Chitwan is no less in the field of sports. We have started cooperation to make it more advanced," said CMC chief administrator Pratap Devkota.
