Former England men's national football team manager Sen Goran Eriksson died on Monday at the age of 76.

Eriksson, who managed the England football team from 2001 to 2006, has recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, according to his agent.

"Ericsson passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family," agent Bo Gustavson told AFP. He stopped appearing in public functions from February 2023 due to 'health reasons'. In January, he announced that he had pancreatic cancer. According to the doctor, he estimated that he could live for a year at the most and less than that in the worst case.

Under his tutelage, England reached the quarter-finals of the 2002 and 2006 World Cups. After taking over the Portuguese team Benfica, he coached Roma and Lazio in Italy. He arrived in England after leading Lazio to the Italian Serie A title.

In England, he also trained the national teams of Mexico, Ivory Coast and the Philippines. However, he never became the coach of his country Sweden.
