The United Gold Cup Football, which has been played for 38 years in Girubari, will begin on Friday. 20 clubs will compete in the tournament to be held at Saraswati Mavi located in Hoopsekot-3.
According to coordinator Hari Thapa, the winner will receive a prize of Rs 250,000 and the runner-up will receive a prize of Rs 150,000. 20,000 will be given to the two losing semi-final teams.
Thapa said that since there were many foreign players participating in the same team in the previous tournament, this year a rule was made that a team could only play a maximum of 3 foreigners. A competition is being held on the occasion of Tij.
