On the second day of the Paris Olympics 2024, the journey of three Nepalese athletes has ended till Sunday. Sushmita Nepal of shooting and Duwana Lama of swimming, who competed on Sunday, were eliminated with poor performance. The previous day, Santu Shrestha of table tennis was defeated and left.

Badminton Prince Dahal also lost in straight sets against Denmark's Victor Axelsen in the first match on Saturday. He said that two more matches of the group stage are still to be played.

24-year-old shooter Sushmita competed in women's 10m air rifle at the Paris Olympics. She finished 42nd out of 43 competitors. She scored 607.8. Sushmita also failed to improve in her personal performance.

Sushmita, who played in the Olympics from Universality Kota, had earlier scored 616.2 in the qualification of the Asian Championship held in Jakarta. In the 19th Asian Games, she was ranked 58th with a score of 607.9.

Poudiwaz Duwana competed in the women's 200m freestyle. She was at the bottom overall. She covered the distance in 2 minutes 20.74 seconds. She was ranked 30th.

In this event, 16 swimmers who crossed the distance before 1 minute 59.29 seconds have reached the semi-final stage.

Duwana could not even break her performance in the Olympics. Her best timing is 2 minutes 12.46 seconds, which she set last year in Fukuoka, Japan. Duwana could not surpass the 2 minutes and 14.50 seconds that she set at the World Aquatic Championship last February.

Duvana stayed away from the national record of 2 minutes 11.94 seconds held by Gaurika Singh.

In the ongoing Olympics, four athletes from Nepal are now competing.
