Three local levels of Jumla have been declared literate. Hima, Sinja and Chandannath municipalities of the district have been declared as literate municipalities. A literate municipality has been declared after the completion of the indicators set for declaring literate.

There are 96 percent literate citizens in Hima village, 96.5 percent in Sinja and 98.91 percent in Chandannath municipality.

Chandannath municipality was declared a literate city by Social Development Minister of Karnali Province Ghanshyam Bhandari. Bijaya Budha, Chief Water Resources and Energy Development Minister of the District Coordination Committee, and Chairman Poorna Prasad Dhital declared Hima literate.

If 50 percent of the 12 indicators have been set, the municipality can be declared literate, the local level is being declared literate. Chandanath Municipality Education Branch Chief Khadananda Chaulagai said that 98 percent of the citizens are literate in the municipality with a total population of 21,036. According to him, during the survey of the population under the age of 15 to 60 last July, only 380 people who did not know how to read ordinary letters were found. After making them literate, the municipality is considered literate.

Shankar Dhital, head of the education branch, said that although the literacy rate is 68 percent according to the census, it is possible to declare the municipality as literate as the data collected by the ward shows that it is a literate municipality. Chairman Purna Prasad Dhital stated that after the completion of indicators such as being able to sign a

, being able to read general text, being able to use mobile phones and calculators, and being able to express their feelings, they are declared literate. The total population of Hima is 12 thousand 800 and 12 thousand 256 people are literate.
