Negligence of the contractor on the road connecting the provincial capital

The Karnali state government had allocated 20 crores in 2077 for the blackening of 13 km road from Dhorpipal to Babiachaur under the multi-year plan.

Galwa Construction Service Dhulikhel, which was given the responsibility of working on the plan for 18 crores, 18 lakhs 36 thousand, started the construction work after signing the contract on 22nd of November 2077. Due to the inability to complete the work on time, the Infrastructure Development Office Salyan extended the deadline twice, but the work has not been completed yet.

Even after four years have passed since the start of the construction work, the company has so far only paved four kilometers of the road. Nirmal Budha, a resident of Gaidua, said that due to the negligence of the construction company, the work of the road connecting the capital Birendranagar could not be completed on time. He said that even though the construction company is currently working by mobilizing workers, it is only removing weeds. He said, "Due to the work not being completed on time, it has become difficult to move around during the rainy season. In winter, the dust is disturbing.'

Kul Bahadur Puri, the ward president of Bangadkupinde Municipality-8, said that although he has repeatedly requested the relevant offices and contractors for road blackening, everyone is ignoring them. He said that due to the lack of sufficient workers and construction materials, the work of the black sheet could not be accelerated.

According to him, the 33 km road from the headquarters Khalanga to Babiachaur was paved with 18 km by the Road Division Office Dang and 2 km by the Infrastructure Development Office Salyan a few years ago. was Galva Construction Service Company Dhulikhel is working on the remaining 13 km, but there is no regularity in the work. If he had worked regularly, he would not have had to extend the deadline twice.

Engineer Bharat Kumar Sharma of Infrastructure Development Office Salyan said that due to negligence and carelessness of the contractor, the project started on 22nd of November 2077 has not been completed yet. He said that even though the deadline of the plan which was supposed to be completed in November 2079 was extended twice, 4 kilometers of black paper and 500 meters of slab slopes were completed.

The construction company has yet to lay 8 kilometers of tarmac. The deadline to complete the work is now only until Push. It doesn't seem like the work can be done within Pushah,' he said, 'We are waiting.'

contractor Pramod Shrestha has admitted that sometimes the work is delayed due to lack of construction materials, sometimes due to other problems, and he could not complete it on time if he entrusted it to others.
