The Karnali highway has been blocked by landslides. After Saturday night's rain, the road was blocked due to another landslide at Hulm, S mode, Gagane Khola and Daikhola in Kalikot.
The highway was blocked for 5 days 1 week ago due to a landslide. The information officer of the district police office, Gobind Chaudhary, said that the road was blocked again after the landslide.
'Hulm and S mode are too small,' he said. He informed that if two machines work all day, it is possible to open till evening.
Top Bahadur Mahtara, in-charge of the district traffic office, said that the vehicles coming from Jumla, Mugu were parked at the Tadi bus park in Kalikokot due to a large landslide in the Gangne River. "We have stopped the vehicles coming from Jumla and Mugu at Manma," he said, "Vehicles coming from Bajura via the Karnali Corridor have been stopped at Lalighat and Khulalu."
The Surkhet-Jumla road under the 232 km long Karnali highway has been blocked by landslides from time to time after the rains. June has been interrupted for 47 days only.
