Landslide blocked Rapti and Madan Bhandari highways

The Tulsipur-Salyan Kalimati-Surkhet section of the Rapti Highway and Madan Bhandari Highway have been blocked since Thursday night due to landslides after incessant rains.
Rapti highway was blocked due to landslides in Chorkhola and Ramri of Kapurkot Rural Municipality and Tulsipur-Kalimati-Surkhet road was blocked due to landslides in Kalimati Rural Municipality 4 Tateli. Passengers are stranded on the road as vehicles cannot move on both routes.
Police Inspector Resham Bahadur Khatri, Information Officer of District Police Office Salyan, said that the Rapti Highway has been blocked since Thursday night as the Chorkhola landslide has not been removed. Landslide removal is being done by using dozers in Ramrima and Tateli.
He said that other rural roads in the district are also blocked due to night rain.
