Haritalika Teej, a special festival of Hindu Nepali women, has been celebrated by organizing fairs in the villages of Jajarkot. The local government has organized an awareness-raising Teej song competition in Barekot, Chedagad, Nalgad and other places including Garikhali Maidan of district headquarters Khalanga.

Janak KC, President of Jajarkot Heritage Foundation, said that Teej was celebrated by organizing dances and songs in original language against women's violence in the society.

Women's Rights Forum in collaboration with Community Security Network and with the help of local social workers and young businessmen, the foundation has organized a special Teej Mela with original Teej song singing and open dance exhibition.

Mamta Singh's team from Chedagad-12 won the original Teej song singing and dancing competition organized on the occasion of Teej Mela, while Ramita Singh's team from the same place won the second place. Similarly, Sushila KC's group from Bheri Municipality-3 Syala won the third place and Mankumari Pun's group from Bheri Municipality-2 Dinga won the consolation prize.

Hazari Nepali, Meena Singh Thakuri and Melina Karki presented excellent dances in this open dance exhibition. KC, president of the foundation, said that the first, second, third and consolation prize winners were given certificates along with cash prizes in the Teej song and dance competition. district also organized an awareness Teej song. A week-long Teej festival was conducted in Nalgad.
