Hima rural municipality has been declared as the first literate rural municipality in the district. Hima has been declared as the first literate rural municipality out of seven rural municipalities including one municipality in the district.
Minister of Water Resources and Energy Development of Karnali Province, Vijaya Budha has declared Hima Rural Municipality as a Literate Rural Municipality. She said Hima has registered its name in history by declaring it the first literate municipality.
In the publicization program of Saksar Hima Rural Municipality, she expressed her happiness that most of the 12 indicators needed to declare a literate municipality have been fulfilled. Village Chairman Lakshman Bahadur Shahi said that Hima has been declared a literate rural municipality with the main slogan of promoting multilingual education, mutual understanding and literacy for peace.
According to him, the total population of Hima is 12,804. Among them, 12 thousand 256 people are literate. In percentage terms, 95.72 percent of citizens are literate while the number of illiterate is 4.28 percent.
There are 55 people who have studied up to master's level, 155 people who have graduated, and 800 people who have completed I.D. 1196 who studied up to high school, 950 who passed SLC and It is mentioned in the data of rural municipality that there are 1 thousand 648 who have passed SEE.
According to child development, the number of general literates is 422 people. The adult population in the municipality is 1,660 people and 5,370 people of school age are literate.
Village Chairman Lakshman Bahadur Shahi said he was excited to announce the first literate village. This indicates that Hima has excelled in the field of education," said President Shahi.
Head of District Coordination Committee Jumla Gaurinanda Acharya said that Hima Rural Municipality has spread an important message by declaring them literate. Chief District Officer Jayakumar Ghimire, Ward President of Hima Rural Municipality-1 Ratan Bahadur Shahi said in the program that declaring Hima as the first literate municipality in the district is a model act. . He said that Hima is investing 30 percent of the budget every year.
