The Karnali highway, which was blocked since August 12 due to landslides due to rain, has been opened after five days.
The Chief District Officer of Dailekh, Khimraj Bhusal, said that after the landslides of Gagane river and Dahikhola cleared, the road became operational.
"The road has been swept away by a large landslide and it took time to surround it due to the hard rocks," said Chief District Officer Bhusal, "After working day and night in the damaged area for three days, the road has finally opened. We raised the wall and made a road at the place where the landslide happened and sent all the vehicles that were stopped.
District Police Office Dullu Police Inspector Niranjan Ghimire said that the apple trucks which have been stuck for five days have moved on. According to him, the work of removing small landslides in other parts of the highway is now underway.
