The residents of Jumlawasi have demanded the government to immediately arrange the opening of the Karnali highway. They submitted a memorandum to the office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers through the District Administration Office Jumla and demanded to open the road as the Jumli apples were rotting due to landslides blocking the highway at various places.

"Due to landslides, the Karnali highway is constantly under construction," the memorandum says, "Hundreds of cargo trucks carrying apples are stranded on the road. If this situation is prolonged only for a day or two, there is a fear that the apple will rot. Therefore, it seems that the government must mobilize manpower and more equipment.'

A large landslide has occurred at Dahikhola, Esmode, Mayorkhola, Gagnekhola and other places on the highway. Vehicles carrying apples, daily necessities and passengers are stranded on the road. They have also demanded to manage the budget to remove the highway landslide immediately.

Hima Rural Municipality Chairman Lakshman Bahadur Shahi, Nepal Journalists Federation President Netra Bahadur Shahi, Advocate and Journalists Federation Jumla Founder Narendranath Yogi and Civil Society Coordinator Raj Bahadur Mahat have requested that the vehicles carrying apples stopped on the road should be immediately sent to their destination and the work of moving the landslides forward.
