According to him, the larvae of the scabby worm eat the green part and the rice leaves dry up, and the adult worm causes damage by eating the tops of the rice. At present, only some places have seen white on the rice leaves. No other such problems have been observed. The office has provided pesticides to 40 affected farmers in two municipalities to control the pest outbreak. He said that as the insect outbreak has not spread like an epidemic, it will not affect the rice production much.

Prakash Khadka, Head of Agriculture Branch of Sharda Municipality, said that some farmers have been provided with pesticides by the municipality to control the insects, so that the rice crops planted in the fields are not affected by insects like last year. He informed that since the thorny scale insect does not grow rapidly, it will be controlled by insecticides.

Ganesh Bhandari, head of the agriculture branch of Chhatreswari rural municipality, said that in the paddy planted in Lanti, Darimjeula and some places of Chhatreswari, about 20 hectares of land He said there was an outbreak of insects. He said that the Kadedar khapte insect caused slight damage. According to him, the municipality has provided pesticides to 400 farmers for pest control.
