Nepalganj Medical College under Banke's Kohpur Lord Buddha Educational Academy Limited has laid the foundation stone of the 'Cancer Hospital' building at Teaching Hospital Kohalpur, which is expanding its services.

Especially for the people of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces, this college has been conducting quality educational programs with specialist health services. On Friday, during a special program, the foundation stone of the 'Cancer Hospital' building was completed at the Teaching Hospital Kohalpur.

According to Shyam Kumar Sharma, Deputy Director of Lord Buddha Educational Academy, which was established in 1996 with the aim of providing quality health care and education opportunities in the western region of Lumbini Province, this cancer hospital is the first hospital started by the private sector in western Nepal, which provides cancer patients in this region with state-of-the-art will provide the service.

Nepalgunj Medical College is currently conducting educational programs including MBBS, MD, MS, BSc Nursing and has planned to conduct more BDS (Dentistry), BMLT (Medical Lab Technology) and BMIT (Medical Imaging Technology) courses from this academic session. In order to further improve and expand the healthcare sector, Nepalgunj Medical College plans to start specialized cardiology services, cath lab services and interventional radiology services in Nepalgunj Hospital from next month.

In addition to this, cancer treatment services will be started by establishing an oncology department in Kohalpur Hospital. On this occasion, the foundation stone of the cancer hospital building was laid, which has started the construction of a hospital with facilities for cancer treatment for the first time in western Nepal.
