Chief Minister of Lumbini Province Chetnarayan Acharya has said that Butwal is going to be made an economically prosperous city and a health hub. He expressed his belief that Lumbini Provincial Hospital with 1200 beds will add a new dimension to Butwal.

On August 15th, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel and Chief Minister Acharya laid the foundation stone of the building and the work has started. This project is also the 'Dream Project' of Lumbini Province. The country's biggest hospital is about to be built at a cost of 6.18 billion by the state government. In the current financial year, the state government has allocated 1.80 billion rupees.

Nepal Pharmacists Association District Branch Rupandehi, while addressing the honoring and capacity building program of pharmacists in Butwal on Saturday, Chief Minister Acharya said that after the hospital is fully operational, pharmacists will flourish and economic business will flourish in all sectors including hotels and farmers. "After the operation of the hospital, there will be a lot of activity and financial transactions," he said, "Butwal will become a good economic hub in the future due to many businesses including industries and factories." The provincial government has given special priority to make Butwal economically prosperous and a health hub.

Acharya said that the provincial government will focus on making the treatment services of hospitals and health institutions operated by the private sector effective. He said that by improving the service facilities of the government hospitals, the private sector hospitals will also be brought under the legal framework and the service delivery will be streamlined.

Chief Minister Acharya said that it is necessary to make every business transparent, and he said that drug dealing in the name of pharmaceutical business and the sale and distribution of drugs that have not been approved by the Department of Medicine will be strictly enforced.
