One person has died after being washed away by Jhumsa river in Palpa. According to District Police Office Palpa, 53-year-old Sher Bahadur Chauhan of Tinau Rural Municipality-4, Gijanchaur died after being swept away by the Jhumsa river at Surkawas in Mathagadhi Rural Municipality-4, Jhadeva.

While crossing the river, Chauhan was swept away by the Jhumsa river around 3 pm on Friday and taken to the middle part of the river about 150 meters down.

The Police Deputy Superintendent of Police and Information Officer of District Police Office Palpa informed that Chauhan's body was sent to District Hospital Palpa for post-mortem after initial investigation at the scene. He said that the incident is being further investigated.
