Four people have died due to diarrhea in Narainapur of Banke. Angat Shahi, head of district health office, informed that four people died due to diarrhea spread in Gegli village of Narainapur rural municipality-3.

According to Shahi, 26-year-old Upa Pasi, her 1-year-old daughter Nandani Pasi, 65-year-old Kamati Pasi and 10-year-old Yusuf Ali Sheikh died. Five people in the village had symptoms of diarrhea.

One of them has returned home after treatment. Two people died during treatment in India and two others died at home. Diarrhea has spread in only two families of Gegli.

After it was discovered that four people had died due to diarrhea, a team including senior district officials reached the village and monitored it, and a team of health workers was deployed for treatment, said District Health Chief Shahi.

'It seems that the illness started with diarrhea. But it seems that this trouble has come even if he did not go to the health institution on time for treatment,'' he said.

Diarrhea may have spread due to heat and contaminated drinking water, he said.
