Gokarna Karki has won as the president of Pokhara Industry and Commerce Association. He was elected as the president after defeating another candidate, Arjun Pokhrel. A total of 2,217 votes were cast in the voting held on Saturday. Karki got 1 thousand 339 votes while Pokhrel got 851 votes. The number of void votes was 27.
Karki, who was elected as the president from the 35th convention of the association, was the senior vice president in the previous term. Pokhrel was also defeated in the 33rd Congress. Uttamman Buddhacharya as senior vice president of the association, Dinesh Banstola as industry vice president, Balram Acharya as commerce vice president, Shobha Gautam as general secretary and Manoj Kumar Shrestha as treasurer were elected unopposed. Sudip Pradhanang has been elected as deputy general secretary after defeating Balakrishna Koirala. Bandana Karki KC and Ram Prasad Kandel have also been elected unopposed as corporate members. For open members, 14 people were competing for 10 people. Among them, Dudhman Gurung, Devendra Praju, Lalit Bahadur Kunwar, Saugat Thapa, Bhim Gautam, Jeevan Prakash Shrestha, Vinod KC, Pradeep Rajbhandari, Ramchandra Timilsina and Tikaram Subedi were elected.
Durga Baral, Prithviraj Timilsina, Surya Ghimire and Naveen Napit won among the members of Bastugat Sangh. In fact, there are 7 candidates for 4 member posts.
