10 buffaloes were killed by lightning on the hill of Lipe Lake in the border area of ​​Dudhpokhri and Dordi Rural Municipality of Lamjung.

Police confirmed on Friday that out of 30 buffaloes kept by Aitman Tamang of Dudhpokhari Rural Municipality-3, Fulingiri, 9 buffaloes including some pregnant ones and one pada died.

According to Dinesh Gurung, Deputy Livestock Service Technician of Dudhpokhari Rural Municipality, the buffaloes of the Panchemani Ghumti buffalo shed died due to lightning that struck around 8-9 pm on Wednesday. He said that the shepherd Tamang informed about the incident around 2 pm on Thursday and then informed the police.

District Police Office Lamjung Police Inspector Thaneshwar Chapai said that the information about the incident was received around 3 pm on Thursday and police were dispatched from Gounda police station on Friday to collect the bond. He said that since it takes more than 5 hours to reach the lake from Gounda, where the police station is located, the police were dispatched only on Friday.

He said that there were 30 buffaloes in the barn and 10 buffaloes died due to lightning. The police said that the buffalo died due to lightning and the loss was worth 4 lakh 10 thousand rupees.
