The meeting of the Gandaki Provincial Assembly, which has been affected by the change of government, is scheduled to be held on August 26.

The State Assembly meeting held on June 18 is going to be held after two months. The meeting passed the current budget of Gandaki government. Speaker Krishna Prasad Dhital informed that the meeting was convened on August 26 on the recommendation of the government.

The Gandaki State Assembly is currently discussing a bill on pesticide management and a bill on private firms. Only a few days ago, the government has registered the bill for the regulation and management of partnership firms in the Parliament Secretariat. This bill is yet to be tabled in the House.

The secretariat has informed that the bill made in relation to the management of pesticides has been sent to the relevant committee for further discussion after the general discussion in the parliament. Chief Minister Surendraraj Pandey, who was appointed on 16th Baisakh 2081 as per the Supreme Court's order, has completed the government only on Monday. Gandaki province has four parliamentary committees. The said committee is now inactive.

The government has the support of 53 MPs in the 60-member provincial assembly. The members said that the parliamentary committee has also become jobless recently. After Social Development and Agriculture Committee Chairman Phanindra Devkota became Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Drinking Water, no new leadership was elected. Congress MP Champadevi Khadka is the chairperson of the state affairs and law committee, while Bhojraj Aryal is the chairperson of the finance and development committee.

The Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee is Sudhir Kumar Paudel of the ruling party UML. The main opposition party CPN-Maoist Center has said that the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee should be Maoist. Earlier, Fanindra was also made from the quota of Chairman Maoists.

Hari Bahadur Chuman, the leader of the main opposition party Maoist Center Parliamentary Party, said that although the government said that 40 laws are necessary for the state government, they did not pay attention to the preparation of the bill.
