Lamjung police has arrested a teacher on the charge of child sexual abuse and started the process of action.
36-year-old Manish Gurung, who has been teaching in a private school in Benisahar Municipality of Lamjung for 2 years, has been arrested by the police.
According to Police Inspector Thaneshwar Chapain of the District Police Office, a 9-year-old girl has been arrested on the charge of sexual misconduct against Gurung and the case has been initiated. On Wednesday, Gurung was given an extension of 7 days in the district court and the process of action was taken forward.
According to the police, the teacher called her to her room on Monday morning and allegedly sexually assaulted the girl. The teacher called the girl to her room on Sunday to read because she was weak in reading. He also called on Monday morning. Unwanted activities took place at that time, said the police.
The girl, who was taken to the teacher's room by her parents and went to the teacher's room, returned home and informed about the teacher's activities. The police said that the teacher was arrested after the complaint. According to police sources, the teacher has confessed to the activities done on the girl.
