Community schools have started teaching through smart boards. Prakash Madhyamik Vidyalaya in Beni, headquarters, last Sunday started teaching by installing 2 interactive touchscreen smart boards with Android 14.0 version IOS operating system, 4K resolution in the campaign to make the school technology friendly.

There are 72 community secondary schools in the district. Out of which, all 10 community schools in Annapurna rural municipality, 3 community schools in Beni municipality and 2 community schools in remote Dhawalagiri are already conducting studies/teaching through at least one smart board.

Time has made it impossible to adapt with technology. Students are more advanced in technology than teachers and parents. Now the teachers will have to be more active and creative,' said Lekh Bahadur Hamal, principal of Prakash Mavi after installing the smart board, 'We are the only school in the district that conducts classes 11 and 12 in science, we were under pressure to become technology friendly. We have started teaching with smart boards in the next two years and we have set a goal to deliver smart boards to all classes from class 8 onwards.

School has spent 2 lakh 18 thousand out of the 3 lakh cash prize received in the performance-based assessment. Smartboard has been purchased. Harikrishna Shrestha, chairman of the school management committee, has connected another interactive touchscreen smart board by spending 160,000.

But with the installation of a smart board, the school has reported that there is a lack of power backup, high-speed internet and CC cameras for security for studying/teaching. No students are going to come just because it is the oldest school in the district. Schools must now become technology-friendly according to the demands and needs of the students. That's why, after being selected in the school management committee, I myself assisted in the purchase of smart boards,' said President Shrestha.

Before this, community schools including Himanchal High School, Adarsh High School, Tikot High School, and Gyan Prakash High School of Annapurna Rural Municipality were studying/teaching through smart board since 5 years ago.
