President of Thasang Rural Municipality, Pradeep Gauchan, informed that the Baksikhola, which was blocked by an avalanche, started flowing after three hours at a place called Mulkhark located in Thasang Rural Municipality-2 of Mustang.

'This afternoon around 1:30 p.m., when the Boxi river was blocked due to the accumulation of landslides, the water level decreased by two-thirds,' he said, 'After 4:30 p.m., the water level in the river increased. At present, we have asked to be cautious in the coastal area.' Chairman Gouchan said that the river water melted the snow piled up in the hill.

Boksi river comes down about 15 km below the place of avalanche and merges with Kaligandaki river. Even though there are no settlements in the vicinity, the Beni-Jomsom road is located in the Boksi River. Village Chairman Gauchan, Chief District Officer of Mustang Janakraj Pant, Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhojraj Pandey, Armed Police, Nepali Army officers, public representatives and local residents also inspected the place where the landslide occurred. .

Chief District Officer Pant said that since the lake is not visible, the risk is low, but he has been asked to be cautious in the coastal area until the snow melts completely. Earlier, on November 28 and February 21, 2078, more than 150 chaurigai were killed by an avalanche from Tukuche mountain in Thasang Rural Municipality-2 Kowang. The district administration office said that there was no human or livestock loss from the latest landslide.
