The process of appointing a new Chief Minister in Wagmati Province has started. With the resignation of Chief Minister Shalikram Jamkattel, Provincial Chief Minister Yadav Prasad Sharma called for government formation by 5 pm on 8th July on Sunday.
With the formation of the Congress-UML alliance, the Wagmati provincial government led by Jamkattel, the leader of the Maoist Central Parliamentary Party, collapsed. Congress Parliamentary Party leader Bahadur Singh Lama will lead the government.
The Congress Parliamentary Party meeting has already decided to initiate the formation of a new government under his leadership. For the first time in Bagmati, the government is going to be formed under the leadership of Congress.
56 votes are required to form a government in the 110-member state assembly. Congress and UML will easily get majority in the state. There are 37 MPs from Congress, 27 from UML, 21 from Maoists, 13 from RPP, 7 from CPN (S) and 2 from our Nepali Party in the Provincial Assembly.
