Deepak Karki of Bardiwas Municipality-2, who vowed to build a hospital himself while taking family members to the hospital due to the problem of sick family members, now provides health care to more than 200 people daily from his own hospital. Shubhaswastik Hospital operated by Karki by spending 500 crores on private investment has now become a model hospital in Madhesh among private hospitals.
Karki, who started a health clinic with a drug store in the year 2063 by taking a loan of one and a half lakh rupees from a cooperative organization, now runs a hospital with modern facilities in his own building.
Karki said that because they are satisfied with the services they provide, they feel the pain of taking services at the hospital every day. Karki claims that even though the hospital is his business, the people who take service from the hospital will never end because they work with the spirit of service.
Breaking the illusion that a private clinic means high fees, Karki said that the hospital has been providing the highest quality services at low fees. Karki said that anyone who needs help, including the poor, the needy, and the elderly, is treated at the hospital's concessions. The hospital is providing round-the-clock services with specialists to make it easy for anyone who has accidents, complex problems and health problems in the vicinity of Bardiwas.
The hospital, including 3 ventilators, CT scan, surgery, laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy, urology, children, women and obstetrics, ventilators, orthopedics, dental, eye treatment, etc., has provided all kinds of services that are not available in other institutions in this area. According to
Karki, a team of 126 people including 13 specialist doctors, 26 staff nurses, 22 other health workers are deployed in the hospital. Doctor Shyam Sudar Shahi said that he is serving in the hospital amid modern technology and highest security. He said that patients come from far away to get the services of CitiScan, ICU, and Emergency.
Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautat of Madhes along with Sindhuli and even from India come to Shubhswastik to get services, said Dipendra Dhakal, an employee of the hospital. According to the hospital administration, the hospital will bear the cost of autorickshaws, ambulances and other vehicles till the month of November for the patients who come to get services from 1st of July. Dhakal said that such arrangements have been made to give concessions that the hospital can give.
Locals are happy with the hope that they will be able to get health services after the hospital is built with facilities. Vinita Pariyar, a customer of the service, said that the patients who had to go far away to get examination and services that are not available in this area, including Kathmandu, Biratnagar, Birgunj She said that she came to the hospital with a stomach problem and was happy with the service provided by the hospital.
