The 'Enough' campaign has started against the fact that the statistics of malnourished children in Madhesh province, where there is food storage, is alarming. It is claimed that the 'Enough' campaign against malnutrition, which was launched targeting three years, will provide children with access to nutritious food.
Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh launched the 'Enough' campaign for Malnutrition-free Madhesh Province organized by World Nepal in Janakpur on Friday. Chief Minister Singh launched the campaign by spoon-feeding nutritious food to a newborn baby.
He said that although there is enough and variety of grain in Madhesh province, it is worrying that children are malnourished. Where did we go wrong to feed children nutritious food? This is a matter of concern," said Chief Minister Singh. "It is also important to understand when to eat, how much to eat and how to eat."
Education and Culture Minister of Madhesh Province Rani Sharma Tiwari said that not only children but also married women in Madhesh do not get enough nutritious food when they get married at a young age. Most of the children born in Madhesh have low birth weight. Minister of Health and Population Satrudhan Singh Koiri said that since the health and education index of Madhesh is very weak, the provincial government is ready to increase it effectively. He informed that the state government will conduct a campaign for nutritious food for malnourished children. Youth and Social Welfare Minister Pramod Jasalwal said that a campaign should be started to solve every problem of children in Madhesh Province, which is measured poorly in every indicator of human index.
Meanwhile, a two-room building has been constructed for children at the nutritional rehabilitation center in Janakpur's provincial hospital. Madhes Chief Minister Singh and Health Minister Koiri inaugurated the two-room building built by Integrated Rural Development Society Mahottari in partnership with World Vision International.
Anup Rana, Country Head of World Vision, informed that they are working in the field of nutrition in Madhes, and said that the building was built to prevent any kind of hindrance in the treatment of malnourished children. The construction of the building has been completed at a cost of 19 lakh 59 thousand 959 rupees.
