Pemba Sherpa (56) from Kathmandu took photos of all eight species of pheasant (Kalij) found in Nepal. Pemba spent 4 years photographing pheasant species like Peacock, Chir, Danfe, Munal, Phokras, Chilime, Kalij and Luyinche.

Munal, Chir, Danfe are in the list of protected birds of Nepal government. The stork is the national bird. Chir is considered to be the rarest bird in the world. Munal is also on the verge of crisis. From Elam in the east to Dandeldhura and from Chitwan in Terai to stopping near Everest base camp He said that he took pictures of all 8

s. On the same day in November 2021, at an altitude of 4,060 meters, he took pictures of Chilime and Danfe at Thame in Solukhumbu. A year later, in November 2022, Kalij was photographed in Elam. On the same day in March 2024, he took a picture of a peacock and a peacock in Chitwan.

After taking photos of 5 pheasant species, Pemba got excited when his friend Sanjiv Acharya, who is studying in the field of conservation in the UK, suggested that he take photos of eight species and start a new work. Where are the remaining three species to be photographed? After interrogation, he reached Arghakhanchi last April to take a photograph of Chir. Photographed Chir during his two day stay. He then reached Ilam in May 2024 in search of Munal. During the week's stay, he also shot it. Now the rest remained to draw the fokras. He went to Dandeldhura in Far West in June 2024 to photograph Phokras. He also took a picture of the male and female Phokras in the forest at an altitude of 2,400 meters. There was no limit to the joy of photographing all 8 species of birds. Said, "I was happier than when I climbed Mount Everest eight times."

There are 52 species of pheasant birds in the world. Only 8 types are found in Nepal. In Nepal, pheasant birds are found from 190 meters above sea level to 4,570 meters above sea level. Pemba has photographed more than 655 species of birds found in Nepal. There are records of 894 species of birds found in Nepal so far. Photos of bird photos have reached the Himalayas from the plains. They are happy with it.

Mountaineer Pemba Sherpa became a 'U-turn' on the way to 'wild life photography' after an accident during climbing.

Climbed Mount Everest 7 times. Climbed 6 mountains 8 thousand meters high in three countries. Manaslu, Makalu and Dhavalagiri are the first mountains and have climbed all the highest mountains in Europe. Jitu (Gasserbrum Tu) in Pakistan and Sisapang in Tibet stood on the peak. However, now he is enjoying the journey of 'wild life photography' with his past as a climber. After the death of 7 foreigners on 23rd September 2012 while climbing Manaslu mountain, he left the climbing profession and went here. This incident became a 'U-turn' in his life for Dudhkunda municipality Taksendu in Solukhumbu.
