Buddhisagar Marasini from Kantipur with Sushant KC about the ongoing musical journey in America :

What is the purpose of your musical journey in America? How's it going?

I think it is the dream of every artist to take their music to many countries and places. After 8 years of hard work, I also went on America tour with this purpose. Out of the scheduled ones, two of our programs have been completed very successfully so far. I got to perform in front of an audience of around 2000 at the Palladium Hall in Times Square, New York. It has given me great satisfaction.

What places and dates in America are the events taking place?

is currently scheduled in 11 different cities. Among them, programs have been held in New York (July 20) and Minnesota (July 26). Additionally, DMV on July 28th, Harrisburg on August 3rd, Pittsburgh on August 4th, Dallas on August 10th, North Carolina on August 17th, Austin on August 23rd, San Francisco on August 30th, Colorado on August 31st and Columbus on September 7th. . In this tour, we have chosen the places where Nepalese people live the most.

What kind of support are you getting from the audience during your musical journey? During the

tour, we have had much better support than expected. We are hoping for more support in the upcoming events.

You have created history by giving a musical performance at the Palladium Hall in Times Square in New York, how was the experience?

I feel very lucky to have such an opportunity. Seeing the audience there gave me energy too. My own experience has also been of a very high standard.

What kind of support did you get from the audience at the Palladium Hall event? Who was at the presentation?

All my solo shows on this tour. I am performing a song/music with my band 'The Bangers'. The band consists of guitarist Dipankar Gautam Chhetri, drummer Sanjay Awale, bass guitarist Niranjan Regmi, keyboardist Dawa Sherpa, DJ Radmus (Sudeep Baskota). The sound engineer is Shishirratna Shakya, the light technician is Ravi Gurung, the videographer is Thomas GM (Ayushman Ghartimar) and the manager is Amarchandra Neupane.

How many songs did you perform in that program? How much did that one show cost? I performed 21 songs in the

event. I sang two of them again after the request of the audience. Apart from that, I also presented a song that has not been released yet. We don't know much about the cost of the program. But anyone can guess that New York is also well spent in a program held in a place like Times Square.

Any memorable moment at the Palladium Hall event?

We are now presenting the old song 'Timile' in a new style. The performance of that song became an unforgettable moment for me because there was a part at the end of the song where the audience could sing along.

What is the reason why you prefer musical events or concerts outside the country more than inside the country?

We have given equal priority to all shows. Lately, I have been trying to do Nepali shows differently and in my own style, so it has taken some time.

America's musical journey is a campaign to connect the diaspora? If yes, how is that possible and what are you doing in the future?

Any musical journey can be viewed from different angles. And this tour is also an expedition. Plans are being made for similar musical journeys in the future and there are plans to release new songs as well.

What is the estimated cost of your US tour and who is organizing it? The organizers know more about the costs of

tours than we do. And, this tour is organized by 'Thamel NYC' with the help of Garage Entertainment.

Some time ago you also released a song in Hindi, why and for what?

Not long ago, the public song 'Park Na' managed to become trending in India. That's why we released another song 'Kya Kardiya' in Hindi. The reason for that is to widen the audience of Nepali songs and music. In the days to come, efforts will be made to sing Nepali songs to the citizens of other countries of the world.

What are the plans in the future to make Nepali song-music universal? The

plan is always the same. That is, to release as many songs as possible and reach as many listeners/viewers as possible. By doing this, I think that in the future, Nepali songs and music will also become global. For that, everyone's support and cooperation is very necessary.

What are you doing in Nepal in the coming days?

My focus for now is the new song. Along with that, I am promoting the 'SKC' clothing brand.

What advice do you have for the younger generation looking for a future in music? Have you thought about helping such a generation?

To young people looking for a future in music, I would say do what you love and keep doing it. At present, I am also learning and gaining new experience. In the future, the aim is to support other artists as much as possible.

Where do you think you are in the journey of world music?

I believe my journey in world music is just beginning.

How far did your music studies go?

Now I am studying in the last year of graduation at Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA.

Finally, would you like to say something to the audience/audience?

I would like to thank all the viewers and supporters who have supported me so far. It would not have been possible to get here without them.
