The National Paralympic Committee (NPC) on the 25th anniversary of Nepal honored the 5-member team including Taekwondo's Palesha Govardhan, the bronze winner of the Paris Para Olympics, with cash on Wednesday.

On behalf of Ncell, Palesha was given 10 lakhs, trainer Kaviraj Negi Lama was given 3 lakhs, Taekwondo player Varahsingh Mahata who played in Paris Para Olympics, swimming Bhim Bahadur Kumal and swimming coach Wijenman Shrestha were given 1 lakh each.

NPC Nepal also honored the past Para Olympians Vikram Bahadur Rana, Maiyan Vishunkhe, Lakshmi Kunwar and Nirmala Gyawali along with the team participating in the Paris Para Olympics. Nirmala was not present at the event.

NPC has expressed interest in para sports and supported Rakhapat Member-Secretary Tanklal Ghising, Chairman of Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) and member of Olympic Council of Asia Jeevanram Shrestha, Taekwondo Team Manager of Paris Para Olympics Ramchandra Shrestha, Safe the Mission of Paris Para Olympics Saroj Shrestha and others were honored.

Minister of Youth and Sports Tejulal Chaudhary, President of NPC Nepal Radha Ghale, Senior Vice President Kedar Sivakoti, representatives of Ncell and others honored them.

On Wednesday, the Kathmandu District Taekwondo Association honored Palesha with 138,000. Coach Kaviraj was awarded 58,000 and Bharat Singh 10,000 with a certificate of appreciation. They were honored by Nepal Chamber of Commerce member Rupkaraj Vanshi, Kathmandu District Taekwondo Association President Vikram Khadgi and others.

Siddharth Vanasthali Institute also honored Palesha with separate cash. Principal Vanshi gave Palesha 50,000. Similarly, Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward 8 also honored Palesha and coach Lama with 51,000 people.
