The 12th NSA Cup swimming competition organized by the Nepal Swimming Association will be held on October 13 and 14.
According to the swimming association, 72 events of different age groups including open women/men will be contested in the swimming pool of the international sports complex in Satdobato. According to
association, 350 players will participate in the tournament. Open and best one female/male player of each age group will get Rs.5000.
The president of the association, Jagatman Shrestha, informed that if there is a new record of less than 1 second in the current national record, 5000 rupees, 10 thousand rupees for 1 to 3 seconds and 20 thousand rupees for more than 3 seconds. Before this, it was informed that only 5000 will be given when the national record is maintained.
Association has said that along with this competition, it will start the tradition of honoring swimmers who played in the Olympics with cash every time.
President Shrestha said that the main purpose of NSA Cup is to identify the talent of swimmers, increase the morale of the athletes, establish the belief that swimming is for everyone, and make swimming accessible to different age groups. It is said that players will be selected for international competitions from the competition.
