On Wednesday, the Rugby Union informed about the preparations for the tournament by holding a press conference. Association president Deepak Devkota said that 17 Asian countries including Nepal will participate in the competition. According to him, 14 teams will compete in men's rugby sevens and 8 teams in women's rugby sevens. President Devkota said that more than 450 players and officials from Asia will come to Nepal for the

tournament. The association estimates that about 28 million rupees will be spent on the program. The champion women's and men's teams of the tournament will win the gold medal along with the trophy of Asia Rugby, the second runner-up will win the silver medal and the third runner-up will win the bronze medal.

The general secretary of the association, Gobind Ghimire, said that after receiving full membership of the World Rugby Federation, the association is increasing its activities more effectively. He believes that organizing a big tournament of Asian rugby will help in the development of sports tourism in Nepal.

According to the association, 16-16 players from Nepal are in closed training. They are being trained by New Zealand coaches.

Has the Dasharath Stadium field been damaged by playing rugby? In response to the question, President Devkota said that it is not true that in many countries of the world football and rugby are played on the same ground and that the ground will be damaged by playing rugby. He claimed that the grounds were damaged because they were not properly protected.
