Skating and Skate Boarding Association of Wagmati Province is organizing a 'Jam Jam Skate Jam' skateboard competition in Kathmandu on October 4 and 5.

Prakash Shrestha, president of Wagmati Province Skateboard, informed at the press conference held on Tuesday that the competition will be held in two categories, skateboard and roller skate, and 170 athletes from all seven provinces will participate in it.

There will be 100 competitors in the roller skates at the engineering college in Thapathali, while the skateboard will be held at the court of the Pulchok campus. 70 players will participate in it. The competition will be open. The organizer also said that both men and women should compete equally in the same event. The top four players of the

game will receive prizes of 30,000, 15,000, 10,000 and 5,000 rupees respectively. The total estimated budget of the competition is 8 lakh rupees.

In a press conference, the central president of the association, Achyut Khanal, said that according to the policy of coordinating with the local municipalities for the development of the game, land has been acquired from the Kathmandu Metropolitan City to build the skate board infrastructure. President Khanal also informed that the association has already started the initiative to build the necessary sports infrastructure.
