For the Madhesh Premier League (MPL), Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh has started discussions with officials of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). Keeping in view the popularity and reputation of the cricket game and its professionalism, preparations are being made to organize the MPL.

Chief Minister's Press Adviser Anil Karna informed that a discussion was held between Chief Minister Singh and CAN President Chatur Bahadur Chand for the MPL project in Madhesh Province.

In the presence of Janmat Party Vice President Engineer Deepak Kumar Sah and CAN Vice President Roshan Singh, Chief Minister Singh and CAN President Chand agreed to organize the MPL as soon as possible, Karan said.

'There has been a discussion between the Chief Minister and CAN officials about the format and financial structure of the MPL,' said Karn, '5 teams will play in the MPL and up to 2 national level players will participate in each team.' He informed that it has been fixed.

The selection of players for the MPL, like other Premier Leagues, will be through bidding. Chief Minister Singh said that MPL will increase the quality of cricket game, level of entertainment and economic contribution. He also expressed his belief that the league will help the economic security of the players, qualitative growth in tourism and hospitality and the economy of the province.
