Nepali Taekwondo player Vision Tamang was honored with 1 lakh cash on Saturday. He won the gold medal in the 14th International Open Friendship Taekwondo Championship held in South Korea.

In the August 23-24 tournament, Vision won the men's under 40 kg gold. He was the only participant from Nepal in the competition.

International Open Friendship Taekwondo Championship (IOFTC) has awarded 1 lakh to Vision. On the same occasion, he was also awarded 200 US dollars provided by US World Class Hollywood Taekwondo Association player Selba Tamrakar.

Naples Taekwondo Academy player Vision has already won 21 gold medals in domestic competitions. This is his second international gold. Earlier he won gold in Thailand.

Taekwondo international judge Ashok Khadka, who was the judge in the same competition, was honored with 25,000. He has acted as judge in around 40 international competitions.

Senior taekwondo coach Naveen Kumar Shrestha was also honored with a letter of appreciation. Rajmandir Shrestha, who won gold in Vetran of the 10th Asian ITF Taekwondo Tournament in India, was also honored. Youth and Sports Minister Tejulal Chaudhary presented them with cash and certificates of appreciation.
