The Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) announced the names of eight marquee players for the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket on Friday. The 'lucky draw' on Friday will decide which marquee player will be in which team. The competition will be held in Kathmandu from November 15 to December 6.
The marquee players announced by CAN are Rohit Paudel, Dipendra Singh Airey, Sandeep Lamichhane, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Asif Sheikh, Kushal Bhurtel and Kushal Mall. These 8 players will remain as marquee players in eight different franchise teams.
Kathmandu will get the first player from the 'lucky draw'. Similarly, the turn of Pokhara, Chitwan, Biratnagar, Lumbini, Janakpur, Karnali and Sudurpaschim will come from second to eighth number. A marquee player has to play for three years. The right to retain and release the marquee player will be with the franchise team and for this he will have to coordinate with Can.
