Nepali junior runner Ajay Bik won the bronze medal in the 4th South Asian Junior Athletics Championship on Thursday.

Ajay won the medal in the 3000 meters race in the competition being held in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He completed the race in 9 minutes 08.91 seconds. The gold and silver of this event were won by Indian athletes Shah Rukh Khan and Mohit Chaudhary. Sharukh won the gold with a time of 8 minutes 26.06 seconds while Mohit won the silver with a time of 8 minutes 27.61 seconds. There were 9 competitors in this event .

In the women's 3000m race, Asmita Bhujel missed out on winning bronze due to a short timing. He finished the race in fourth place with a time of 10 minutes 46.15 seconds. Sri Lankan runner Dulanji, who won the bronze, clocked 10 minutes 39.39 seconds. The first and second places were won by Indian athletes. 5 male and 4 female athletes from Nepal are participating in this tournament. It will last till Friday .
