The 'Pulsar Sports Award', which will be given to the players and coaches who have performed best in Nepali sports throughout the year, will be given in the coming August.

The 21st edition of the award, which will be held on August 28, will be awarded to the best players in ten different categories, the organizer, Durganath Subedi, chairman of the Nepal Sports Journalist Forum, informed at a press conference held here today.

According to him, there will be the best male athlete of the year, best female player of the year, best young person of the year, best coach of the year, people's choice award, para athlete award, special award, team of the air lifetime achievement award and Asian sports journalist award.

The main sponsorship agreement has been signed between the organizing platform and Golcha Group for the award. Subedi, the chairman of the organizing forum and Abhimanyu Golchha, the managing director of Golchha Group, signed the agreement to be the main sponsor of the award. According to the

agreement, Golcha Group will give one motorcycle prize to the best players in five categories, including male, female, youth, people's choice and coach.

Similarly, the winners of other categories, Team of the Air, Lifetime Achievement, Special and Para-Athlete category will also get one lakh prize. Subedi, the chairman of the forum, said that the prize money has been increased by 100% compared to the previous edition. According to him, previously, the winning player of the said category was given a prize of Rs 50,000.

This time, along with the award program, the forum is also going to organize the Congress of the Asian Association of Sports Journalists (AIPS, Asia) in Nepal. The congress will be held from 25th to 28th August. Sports journalists from 33 countries in Asia will be present at the congress, said Subedi, the president of the forum.

Last year Deepak Adhikari of athletics for men, Rajpura Pachai of athletics for women, Chandra Bahadur Gurung of athletics for coach, Devkumar Khanal of cricket for youth and Sikka Suwal Shrestha of table tennis won Pulsar Sports Award in People's Choice Award.

Similarly, the Special Award was given to Photojournalist Sudarshan Ranjith, Para Athlete Honored by Samman Athletics to Maia Vishunkhe, Asian Sports Journalist Award to Hong Kong Sports Journalist Chu Chan Fai and Lifetime Achievement Award to Bharat Tolan Olympian Rajendra Kumar Pradhan.
