The Paris Olympics-2024 ended on Monday amid the grand closing ceremony. In an event held at the Stade de France, Hollywood actor Tom Cruise descended from the roof of the stadium and accepted the Olympic flag.
At the 33rd Summer Olympics in Paris, the United States and China each won 40 golds, but the United States finished first in terms of silver and bronze. In total, the US won 126 medals and China won 91. In Paris, 91 nations won medals of some sort.

Various presentations reflecting French history, art and culture were held at the closing ceremony. On that occasion, Thomas Bach, the president of the International Olympic Committee, claimed that the 33rd Summer Olympics was a sensational success. He also claimed the beginning of a new era in Olympic history.
The next edition of the Olympics will be held in Los Angeles in the year 2028. The US is going to host the Olympics for the first time since Atlanta in 1996. Now the Para Olympics will be held in Paris from August 28 to September 8.
