USA defeated Brazil 1-0 in the women's soccer final. Mallory Pugh scored the decisive goal for the US in the 57th minute. Since 2012, America has won gold in women's soccer.
Lin Yun, caught in the controversy of gender qualification, has also won gold in boxing. Taiwan's Yun defeated Poland's Julia Zaremeta. Earlier, Iman Khalif of Algeria had also won gold amid controversy.
