Expectations of Indian sponsors to IOC

Just last year, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a meeting with IOC officials that he would claim for the 2036 Olympic Games. Modi addressed the annual meeting of the IOC held in Mumbai. There are currently 111 member IOC member teams at the Paris Olympics. One of them is Nita Ambani. She is the wife of India's richest man, Mukesh Ambani. Nita has been an IOC member since 2016. They have Reliance Industries Group. Just last month, they had their son Anant Ambani's grand and very expensive wedding. It became a subject of international interest and news.

The wedding ceremony was held at the place where the IOC meeting was held nine months ago. Some IOC representatives also participated in it. One of them was FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

Reliance's charity foundation also runs an Indian hospitality center in Paris. The Ambani couple inaugurated it on July 27. This also shows India's ambition to host the Olympics. The IOC's contract with one of its major sponsors expires at the end of this year. Similarly, Japanese carmaker Toyota and some others are renewing their contracts.

Olympic sponsors are often 40 years old. Such sponsoring companies are from America and Japan. Japan's two sponsors, Bridgestone and Panasonic, are out of contract at the end of this year. "Sponsors come and go depending on the situation," says Bhamord. It also depends on the business strategy. The IOC expects sponsors from Qatar as well.
