Most of those who were displaced due to floods and inundation in Kanchanpur have returned home. According to the District Police Office, most of the 307 displaced families have returned home.
According to DSP Umesh Joshi of District Police Office, except for 27 families of Dodhara Chandni Municipality-3 Paterakhalla, all the displaced have returned home. The evacuees of Paterakhalla are now living in nearby Jamuna Basic School.
The water level in Mahakali has decreased since Friday. The flood of Mahakali has also destroyed the guide bond of the pond under construction along with the four-lane concrete bridge . The flow has reduced since Sunday . According to the police, the flow of water is less than 1 lakh cusecs.
On Friday, the flow of water in Mahakali reached 461 thousand cusecs . Along with the Mahakali, most of the settlements were inundated when there was a big flood in other river channels of the district.
